3 BIG Mistakes You are Making with Your Vitamins for Alopecia and Hairloss Regrowth

Like most parents, mine were old school in thinking that we could obtain everything we needed from a great diet rich in healthy foods. Meaning, there was no need for vitamins.
Our farming practices, our pollution, and our ways of cutting corners to gain profit and also feed the demand of 8 billion people worldwide has seen drastic changes from when your parents were growing up to how things are done now.
The quality of food has changed, along with pollutants, pesticides onslaught of more chemicals and toxins in our environment, food, water and air.
In addition, our modern life is radically different from when I was growing up and from perhaps when you were growing up too.
To make matters worse, we are not taught about nutrition or diet -in schools or at home. And even worse, our doctors and health care agencies don't know, don't suggest accurate findings and are limited in knowledge.
But wait, wasn't this article about vitamins?
Yes indeed. Back to vitamins...
So are they necessary? Absolutely. They are 100% needed to support our bodies, not just during alopecia but also after!
I would also go on to say and suggest, that certain vitamins are also needed from before pregnancy, to during and through birth and beyond. Because lets face it... the better we support our bodies and babies, the better START they have in life.
But... ok, we can't do anything about the past, so what vitamins can you take now to support your body during alopecia?
I have many suggestions. But one size doesn't fit all. We need to tailor that, and that can happen in a coaching call or in my 2 month Signature Program
However, what I can tell you is that there are many mistakes in general that I see in people taking vitamins.
Mistake #1.
Not taking enough. There are many vitamins where you need more than just the RDA (recommended daily amount) because you have alopecia, and we need to boost your levels. When you have a cold, you drink more tea, more chicken soup than normal and rest more than normal, in the same manner certain vitamins need an extra dosage and boost.
Mistake #2
Overdosing on vitamins. Taking too much of certain vitamins, even if the supplement label offers it, doesn't mean you should take it. This example goes to Biotin. everyone's first choice when dealing with hairloss or alopecia.
Surprisingly its not my first choice... I have others that you are likely missing out on and are essential to health and hair growth but also essential to healing alopecia!
Taking too much biotin, can give you the following reactions: skin rashes, digestive upset, problems with insulin release, and kidney problems. High amounts of biotin can create false positives in laboratory tests for thyroid disease. This is a concern, because then potentially you are misdiagnosed.
Another vitamin of concern is Vitamin A. Taking too much Vitamin A can also give you the following reactions: can cause dizziness, nausea, headaches, coma, and even death. High intakes of preformed vitamin A in pregnant women can also cause birth defects in their babies.
Too much vitamin C can cause a miscarriage, diarrhea.
You see my point?
Mistake #3
Selecting vitamins that still contain certain ingredients that are harming you. Many times vitamins have fillers and "extras" in them that are not necessary. When you consult with me and join my program or grab my books, you have access to all my recommended vitamins and things I personally use and recommend. In my program, I also go through your current vitamins to make sure they are accurate and complete. Many times, they are not, or not sufficient.
Did you know there are 10 types of magnesium? Which one do you take? I clarify this and decipher this for you as I do with the rest of vitamins. Knowing and understanding why certain vitamins are needed either short term or long term allows you to increase efficiency in effort and saves you money in the long run. (because who wants to be taking tons of vitamins for life?)
Just like having specific clothes for different occasions, vitamins are not all the same nor do you need them all the time.
Bonus Mistake: Opting for gummy vitamins when you are an adult. Leave those for the kiddies... they can't do capsules, but you can. Avoid the sugars in the gummies as much as possible.

Yes they support our bodies, but if you don't take action to do more to support your body and life outside of supplements then you will not see best or optimal results. Vitamins are not miracle workers, alone they cannot heal alopecia, but they are definitely part of the solution! **
