Is There Hope for Scarring Alopecia?
Scarring Alopecia has different varieties including Central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia (CCCA), Lichen Planopilaris (LPP), Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia (FFA).
Scarring Alopecia can create permanent hairloss by your body attacking the hair follicles and creating scar tissue which won't allow for new growth.
In order to stop the hairloss and maintain the hair you do have, you want to bring down the inflammation. Whether you have scarring alopecia or another variety of alopecia, the root of it all is inflammation. This inflammation is targeting your hair follicles and is creating the hairloss and then the scarring.
In Scarring Alopecia, your own body creates the scarring that won't allow for new growth.
So what are your options?
Know that you can lower the inflammation and the hair you DO have still can be saved. We can also stop the shedding. Just like any disease, the sooner you act, the sooner you can heal.
What's needed is to lower the inflammation that is causing your alopecia.
