How Losing My Hair and Health Forced Me Into Healing

My alopecia journey began unexpectedly.

I was diagnosed with alopecia areata and telogen effluvium, and at one point, I lost more than 50% of my hair. I remember the shock of it clearly—there was no warning, no preparation, and no real understanding of what was happening.

At the time, I thought I was healthy. I really did.

Like many people, I assumed hair loss was something that happened to “other people,” not me.

The Moment of Diagnosis

My diagnosis happened at a hair salon with my hairdresser—someone who had known me since I was 13 years old. That moment was devastating.

I remember crying there, overwhelmed, confused, and trying to understand how this could be happening when I felt completely fine otherwise.

I went straight to doctors, as most people do.

One opinion became two, then three. And still—no real answers. Only temporary suggestions, medications, and what I later realized were mostly “band-aid” solutions.

Searching for Answers (and Feeling Frustrated)

As time went on, I realized something important:

I wasn’t just dealing with hair loss. I was dealing with a system that didn’t give me clarity or direction.

I tried treatments, medications, and recommendations—but nothing gave me lasting results.

And more importantly, I didn’t feel like anyone was addressing the root cause.

That frustration became the turning point.

The Turning Point: Choosing a Different Path

I reached a point where I had to make a decision:

Keep cycling through the same approach—or step back and look at everything differently.

That’s when I chose the holistic and natural route.

Not because it was trendy, but because I wanted to understand why this was happening in the first place.

I began dedicating myself fully to my healing. And when I say fully, I mean it—long days, weekends, constant research, learning, testing, and adjusting.

It became my full-time focus for years.

The Reality of Healing: It Took Time

My healing did not happen overnight.

It took me over 3 years to begin seeing real, visible change.

But something shifted once I understood what my body needed. Slowly, my hair started to grow back. My health started to rebalance. And more importantly, I started to feel like myself again.

That experience changed everything.

From Personal Healing to Helping Others

As my own healing progressed, something unexpected happened—others started reaching out.

Clients from all over the world began seeing results too.

Over time, I’ve worked with people from more than 66 countries, including individuals with:

  • Alopecia areata
  • Telogen effluvium
  • Diffuse hair loss
  • Female pattern hair loss
  • Traction alopecia
  • Scarring alopecia
  • And multiple autoimmune conditions

What I noticed was simple: when we look at the full picture, healing becomes possible in a different way.

Why I Created Alopecia Angel

Alopecia Angel was created from one belief:

There had to be another way.

A way that didn’t rely solely on trial-and-error medications or confusion. A way that looked deeper at the body, lifestyle, and root causes together.

I also realized something important during my journey:

Hair loss is never just about hair.

It often reflects what is happening internally—physically, emotionally, and systemically.

What I’ve Learned About Healing

One of the biggest lessons from my journey is this:

Healing requires action.

And often, it requires discomfort first.

But on the other side of that discomfort is change.

I often compare it to things like:

  • Pregnancy and childbirth
  • Building a career
  • Saving for a home
  • Training for a marathon

All meaningful outcomes require consistent effort and commitment before results appear.

Hair growth is no different.

The Hair N’ Heal Program

Through everything I learned and experienced, I created the Hair N’ Heal program.

This program was designed to:

  • Look at root causes
  • Personalize the healing process
  • Guide people step-by-step
  • Help identify what is actually going on beneath the surface

I built it because I didn’t want others to go through years of confusion like I did.

What I Believe Now

Today, after more than 8–9 years of being alopecia-free, my perspective is simple:

Hair loss does not define you.

And more importantly, it does not have to be permanent.

I’ve seen healing happen in many forms, for many people, across different stages and timelines.

But the common thread is always the same:

When people take action and look at the full picture, change becomes possible.

If you are just starting your journey, or if you’ve been in it for years, I want you to know this:

There is a way forward.

Your situation is not hopeless, and you are not alone in this experience.

This podcast—and everything I share through Alopecia Angel—began with my own story. And it continues because of what I’ve seen in others.
