Awaken to hair growth. Awaken to hair growth because there is, possibility to get your hair back. Awaken to hair growth because we're not told that we're able to conquer and overcome alopecia. Awaken to hair growth because I want to be a positive light and beacon for you because I've healed my alopecia and now I help others do the same with different types of alopecia, men, women, children, of all ages, of all races and ethnicities.

Hi everybody and welcome back to the alopecia angel podcast. I am your host, Johanna Dahlman and awaken to hair growth. Today, we are talking about 10 things to eliminate, and these are 10 things to eliminate - for better mental health, better emotional health, better health healing, prognosis for your hair, but then also for overall, because it's necessary to eliminate these 10 things that will boost your health in more ways than one. Studies show that eliminating these 10 things help you to overcome situations, to help you overcome many obstacles, including alopecia, including bad health, including bad hair, including all these things that we're struggling with. And so if we put into practice ways and strategies to eliminate these things, then we can move forward. Then we can move the needle. Then we can see hair grow.

Today I was talking to my mom in the kitchen and I told her, they told me more than seven years ago that I couldn't heal my alopecia, that alopecia had no cure and I want to say that we need to give ourselves that permission. And if you need that permission, look back at my last podcast episode, it's called permission to heal because a lot of times that permission to heal comes from within. That a lot of times that permission to heal comes from, from us, not from someone else.

And even now I still have clients who are doing the program and they're asking me, is this really for it? Is this really forever? Is this really? And I'm like, yes, I'm here standing in front of you and it is forever. I have all my hair, all my clients continue to see hair growth. Even years later, all you have to do is just follow the plan.

All you have to do is just follow the strategy. The techniques it's all laid out for you. So there's no need to fear hair loss ever coming back, even with life events. So let's get into these 10 things to eliminate right now. Number One is the negative self-talk. The negative self-talk is only going to keep you back and keep you trapped into this loop of negativity and that comes in and out in and out. And so the negativity needs to stop the chatter. The mind chatter needs to stop, and we need to affirm ourselves. We need to incorporate more positivity into our life. And so anytime you have a negative thought, a negative criticism towards yourself, or even towards others, change it.

Change and say, Nope, that's not the way. Nope. That's not what I need to say. Nope. That's not what it is, what's true. Cause a lot of times the negativity we tell ourselves or that we think is not true and just like healing alopecia when people say, oh, it's you can't heal it. Yeah, you can. Yes you can and so you have to give yourself an edge and that edge is the positivity. Athletes Get this edge Olympians, get this edge by incorporating more positivity by mind over the matter with having a really strong mindset  and this is what we need in order to move forward.

And so the negativity needs to stop that loop that broken record needs to stop. And sometimes I see it where people are like, oh, I'm a loser. Oh, I can't do this. Oh, I can't figure it out. Like, yes you can and sometimes we need help, and sometimes we need a little guidance, and sometimes we need to be shown the path and that's okay. We're not all given the tools necessary, but if we find and look for the tools, then we can get it and we can surpass our obstacles, we can do so many things that we want to do.

So the negative self-talk needs to stop. That's number one. Another thing to eliminate would be the people pleasing and the people pleasing. I'm guilty of as well, because the people pleasing doesn't help you in the long run either. Because sometimes most of the time when we are people pleasing, we're sacrificing our own selves for the others and I've seen this in clients. I've seen this in myself. I've seen this just in general people where they go so far as to do so much for friends, family, coworkers, et cetera. And they put themselves out, they put themselves out, putting them into a risk of maybe of a certain situation, or maybe they don't consider.

The ramifications of that or maybe  it's because of doing so much for others, that they don't do enough for themselves and just like when you travel on an airplane, you need to put on your face mask, you need to put on your air mask before you help others and so you really need to help yourself before others. And when it comes to alopecia, you really need to focus on you. This is not a time to be trying to help others around you. This is a time where you really need to focus on you. You need to heal if that's what you want, because again, healing is a choice and so we have the choice to heal. We have the choice to spend our time doing other things, or we can spend our time focused on the one task, which is to heal yourself, to get the hair growth and to be healthy and happy.

So. That's the focus here. Number three, we need to eliminate excuses and excuses come in so many forms. I was in the supermarket and I heard a mother daughter interaction going on and the daughter was saying to the mom, you don't have discipline. This is why you're grabbing the scones. This is why you're grabbing the butt cake and this is why you're grabbing this, and this is why you're grabbing that.

The mom was effectively more with overweight compared to the daughter and at the same sense, they were both talking out loud and so everyone could hear them. And a lot of times we need to let go of the excuses. If we have a goal in mind, if that's weight loss, if that's to get the hair, if that's to heal our alopecia and reverse it once and for all, if that's to do a marathon, whatever it is, we need to put the excuses aside. We need to see that, what we tell ourselves, whether that's negative more than likely it is negative that we can change. We can change and we can not have these excuses and we cannot have these excuses that limit us because essentially if we're fighting for our excuses, if we're fighting for our limitations, then guess what?

You get to stick to your limitations. You get to keep them. So if you keep saying, oh, I can't do this, cuz I'm not smart enough. Well, I can't do that because I don't have, you know, the resources or I can't do this because it's not possible for me or because of this or because of that. That's just excuses and limitations.

That's really what that is and so in order to overcome that, you need to take those baby steps to say, yes, I can. Yes. I'm gonna get the help. Yes. I'm going to invest in myself. And that's another thing that I learned. It's not part of these 10 things to eliminate, but that's one thing that I did learn on my path of healing and recovery from alopecia and putting this autoimmune disease to sleep, was to invest in myself and now, investing in yourself could be buying cleaner water. It could be more cognizant of the food, that you're eating. It could be more cognizant of how you live your life. It could be, just having a more of a mindful way to live and understanding all the ramifications.

If you choose A, B, C, or D, cuz it all has a consequences and if any of you are parents out there, you understand that there's a consequence to every choice we make, right? This is what we teach our children and this is what we need to understand also as adults is that there's a ramification, there's a cost, there's a consequence to everything.

Whether that A, B, C, or D, good, bad or ugly. There's always a consequence and so we need to make sure that we are in alignment with these consequences, that we're okay with this, because at the end of the day, it is a choice. It is a choice and so going back to the excuses, we need to let go of the excuses, we need to let go of anything that's holding us back. That's the excuses. That's the negative self-talk. That's the people pleasing. That's the limitations or limiting beliefs as many come to understand it. Limiting beliefs also hold you back and it keeps you back. Not in a place of comfort, but actually in a place, in a place of fear, in a place of angst, in a place of worry and a place of doubt.

And that's the next thing. That's number four, 10 things to eliminate. Number four is doubt. You can't doubt yourself. You can't doubt your healing. You have to go in with confidence saying, I'm gonna heal. I'm going to reverse this and I'm gonna do this. Just like you can say, I'm going to run a marathon. I'm going to train for this. I'm going to get my masters. I'm going to get that promotion. I'm going to Uplevel myself in another way. There are so many ways to cast away the doubt and really when you have someone that you're following, someone been there done, that someone that can help you get to that next level of healing, this is where you need to go in with full confidence, full confidence that you're able to do it, full confidence of that person and full confidence that this is the right path.

And if it's not the right path, then take another path, but go in with full confidence and leave the doubts behind. It's quite funny sometimes because I have clients here and there, where in the eight week program, they see hair growth by week, four week, five and they still have doubts. And I'm like, How are you doubting this? How are you doubting the healing when you're already seeing hair growth? And it's not just a little bit, it's an abundant amount of hair growth. How are you doubting this? And we're on the coaching call and everyone on the coaching call has seen hair growth. Like how are, how is it that you're able to doubt this?

This doesn't make sense. Sometimes people are Slow to grasp that healing is possible for them. Sometimes they're slow at maybe, late bloomers where they grasp a concept later on and that's okay. We're all going at our own path. We're all going in our own pace, so the speak, but you really need to cast all the doubts behind, because I will say if there's one thing I love to do, I love to prove people wrong.

And here recently I had a client who she's been following me for probably over two, three years. And she finally joined the program. In less than five weeks, she's already started seeing hair growth and she was a big critic of mind and she's changed her tune. She's changed her attitude. She's changed her outlook. She's changed her realm of possibilities and not just alopecia, but beyond alopecia it's happened where there's a trickle down effect. And this has permeated into her career, into her finances, into her life in general and so now she sees how one thing was so Overarching, so Heavy. So just  it weighed on her right hair loss weighs on people.

It weighed on me and it weighed on her. And now she's seeing the hair growth. And now she's seeing like the big, full spectrum, the big rainbow of possibilities for her in her life that, yeah, she can overcome things and maybe sometimes, yeah, of course you need a guide. You need guidance and you need that strategy, but everything is possible.

If we're able to walk on the moon, if we're able to do tours there and come back, it's definitely possible. To get your hair back. It's definitely possible that anything that you wanted and you desire, you have to understand that it's possible. Everything is out there for you. We just need to take the action. We really do.

So number five on the 10 things to eliminate is the judgment of others and this is where. As your guide, as your health coach, the judgment of others is something we need to eliminate because we are all going at our own pace and sometimes people are like me, they're type a, they wanna go, go, go, go and get those results and I love that. I love seeing that. And I'll feed you the fuel to get you to that next level and less time, cuz that's what I'm all about. And some people wanna go at a slower pace. They wanna chew their food slowly. They want to walk more slowly. They want to. Go slowly and that's okay, too. And so in the program, we accommodate to all paces, to all levels of learning, to all levels of how fast you wanna go and how slow you wanna go.

And again, it's a process. Healing is a process and when it comes to mind, body spirit healing, this is what it takes to heal alopecia because it is mindset. It is strategy. It is health. It is wellness. It is so many of these overarching categories. That Again, it's a puzzle piece. It's a huge, huge puzzle piece. It's over a thousand pieces to heal alopecia, but it's all possible for everybody. So the judgment of others, we need to respect everybody and love ourselves because sometimes yeah, when people go faster, they see results quicker, but that's okay. We're going at our own pace and I also have to remind myself of that too, where I took three, three years plus to heal but now you don't have to, and that's the beauty. Now, with the strategy. Now you can do this in less time. So that's the number five judgment of others.

Number six is the negative thinking. So number one was negative self talk and that's the stuff we tell ourselves. Like I'm not good enough. I'm not worthy. I can't do it. I'm a loser. I'm this, I'm that. We need to change that too. I'm a winner. I can do it. I can do anything, it's possible for me. I am getting healthy. I am growing my hair with the right people, with the right strategy, with the right techniques. I can do this. I can overcome alopecia. I am healthy and wealthy.

Like these are the positive self-talk that we want to infuse in our lives. And so when it comes to number six to the negative thinking, this needs to switch the negative thinking is, oh, what was me? The worst is gonna happen. Thinking like the worst case scenario for everything, whether that's the, your plant dried out and because of lack of water, or now you you're, you're thinking it's gonna die and it might, but at the same time, it could also revive itself, you know, depending how hard it is, or maybe it doesn't even need water, cuz it's a cactus.

So it all just depends on what type of situation we're looking at and you have to look at it at all angles. It's not one size fits all and so the negative thinking, we need to switch that to a positive thinking to a positive mindset. Because everything is possible for you, just like it is for me just as like it is for your neighbor, for your friends, for your family, it's all possible where there's a will,  there's a way and I truly believe that. And so if you want it, it's there for you. And if you don't know how, then this is where we need to seek, we need to seek the information. We need to seek the guidance. We need to seek the proven strategy that those have done it. So if, for example, if I want to. Buy a house.

I would go to probably a real estate agent first and do my research and try to see, okay, the neighborhoods and the schools and all these other factors that go into buying house, is it on a March? Is it built on stilts? Is it built by the ocean? Is it built in a forest? Is it built with sewage?

right.

We have to understand what we're looking at and what we're buying when it comes to a house, right? If that's what we want and in this case when it comes to alopecia, there are so many. Gimmick out there. There are so many band aids. There are so many things that don't work. Medications don't work. The hair caps don't work. The laser caps, the shampoos, the serums. There's so many things that don't work out there that they're just distracting you and the negative thinking to that is, oh, I've tried it all. I've tried everything and nothing works, well it doesn't work because it's not the right. It's not, not the right solution and So this is part of the misnomer of healing, alopecia.

We all think that it's gonna come from a bottle. We all think that it's going to be a one size fits all when it's not, it's not a one size fits all. It needs to be tailored to you. It needs to be customized to you. This is why in the hair and heal program. We have it, a personalized evaluation to you because the way you heal a five year old is not the way you heal a 55 year old is not the way you heal a 35 year old.

It's all very different, cuz we are All very different. We have different diets. We have different lifestyles. We live in different countries. We observe different things. In my last program, we had a handful of people who observe Ramadan and who do fasting. So, there's all these different things that have to be tailored to you because again, it's not one size fits all.

And so this is where the negative thinking can spiral you down. If you think, oh, I've tried it all and nothing works. It does work. You just have to want to heal again. Healing is a choice. And many people have told me, I don't wanna heal. Like I'm happy being bald. And maybe they haven't said to that extent, I'm happy being bald, but they've also told me straight up, I don't want to heal.

So if you don't want to heal, that's okay. I respect that. But if you do wanna heal and you wanna heal the natural way, because really that's the only way to heal. Well then, Follow me. I'm happy to help you. I'm happy to help you get the results that you can see on me and that you can see from my clients and the success stories online.

All right. So number seven, fear of failure. And a lot of times we think that, oh, this supplement, this shampoo, this serum, this. Technique is not gonna work and I'm gonna fail. But what you do learn is the lessons, the lessons that we need to learn from each thing that we've tried, because if you don't try, you don't win.

And if you're always having this fear of failure, then you're never gonna try, right. This is where there's analysis paralysis. It'll stop you in your tracks to overcome and to get to Finish line. and I failed. I failed many times in my life. I failed healing My alopecia, I failed trying and attempting to do it and this is probably why it took me more than three years, because once I finally got that recipe, It took off and hair started sprouting. I started feeling better. The brain fog lifted, my energy came back. The excitement for life came back. The fatigue went away. The depression went away. The anxiety went away.

The worries went away. Like I knew, boom, I'm on a trajectory for putting myself back into health, putting myself back into a place where hair can grow because hair is a very high energy situ. It requires a lot of energy to grow. So again, this is a recipe, so you cannot have the fear of failure. You have to go into it thinking I'm gonna win. I'm gonna succeed. I have the plan. I have the strategy. All I have to do is to follow it. Boom, there you have it. But at the same time, if you still have the fear of failure, you have to see that life is filled with lessons and so it's either you win or you learn, that's all, there is, there is no such thing as failure.

It's either you win or you learn and you learn maybe a different way, a different strategy, a different way to do things, a different method. Maybe you implement some other things. Maybe you tweak the recipe just a little bit more and that's how we're able to succeed and that's how we're able to win. So do not have the fear of failure because again, it's either a lesson or you're succeeding.

There is no failure. It's just, you keep moving forward, you know, it's just like the baby, when they're learning to walk, they don't say, oh, I'm gonna stop because I can't get this on the first try. I can't get this on the second try. I can't get this on the 50th try. I'm just gonna crawl for the rest of my life.

No child says that they just get up and keep trying, get up and keep trying until they learn the balance until they learn the skills to walk on their own and this is how right we evolve, and we grow, and we become better, and now children run and walk, and do so many things, and climb at such a younger, younger age.

And so it's possible. Right. But we're also going at our own pace. Some children start walking at 12 months, others at 10 others at two years, others at a year and a half, we're all taking our own sweet time and that's okay. But if you wanna go faster, we go together. Right. And this is where we help each other to overcome these obstacles.

So number eight is overthinking and I'm an action taker personally. And yes, I think through the Possibilities, I think through, what could happen? I think through the return on investment. Yes. I think through, do I want to tap into this, like crypto or something new like Bitcoin, do I want to tap into this?

Do I want to try this out? I don't. And I would say that in terms of things that are new, I would have to say I'm more of an action taker. I take action and I want to move forward and see the results. I'm more and I'm very results driven. And so I think the results and getting closer to that helps me and propels me further.

And so the overthinking can paralyze you because if you're overthinking too much, then you are exhausted and just maybe overwhelmed with all the options out there. Right. Is it the injections, the cortisone shots? Is it the square acid? Is it the creams? Is it the potions? Is it seeing the dermatologist or is it seeing this doctor or that doctor or what is.

That we need to do. And the overthinking, the overanalyzing, which is number nine, puts us in a state of paralysis and that's not healthy for us because then if we haven't fixed the self-talk, the negative self-talk or the negative thinking, then that can just propel us into this downward spiral and just keep this ball rolling of.

Overthinking, overanalyzing, negative self-talk, negative thinking, judging ourselves, fear of failure and you see how then the doubt creeps in and everything else creeps in, and so this is where we need to really stop the overthinking, and the overanalyzing, and just go for it and go for what you want and that means anything in life.

In this case, we're talking about hair growth, but really these 10 things to eliminate can percolate and can have a domino effect into every area of your life, whether that's dating relationships, uh, career, health, wealth, money, children, parenting, just go for it and again, you have one life to live.

And the overarching question is how do you wanna live it? Do you want to live it and be happy with your hair and be happy with full hair growth? How do you wanna live it? And it's like, if you sit back and really. Envision like close your eyes and envision the life that you want for yourself. What does that look like? How does that really look like for me personally, it's number one is health. It's always been number one. Number one is health, especially after going through alopecia. Now it's just like, non-negotiable, non-negotiable health is number one with health comes hair. So hair is part of that and then from there, you know, everything else can trickle down. It has a trickle down effect because when you have full vibrant health, you are balanced. You are happy, you are thriving. You are at an optimal level. Mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually in every aspect. Health is so much more than just. Hair growth. It just like alopecia so much more than just hair loss.

There's so much more and so many more components to it. So envision, what is it that you want for your life? And this is where hopefully this, you know, propels you and pushes you to let go of some of these things. Maybe not all of them in one day, but hopefully. Little by little, you can start letting go of the negative self talk and start complimenting yourself.

And maybe if it's hard for you or awkward for you to compliment yourself, maybe you start complimenting others. I absolutely love complimenting others because a lot of times you don't hear a lot of times where people are complimenting others, even strangers on the street, but I love to do it. It's almost like a game for me. I love giving sincere compliments to people because A. It makes them feel good and B. Giving a compliment to yourself also makes you feel good too and saying, yeah, I do look good. Yeah. I love my hair. Yeah. I have lost weight. Yeah. My skin looks great. Yeah. I am tan.

And just notice these things about yourself, notice these things about others and how people are doing their best to improve. Someone came to me the other day and she said, oh, I've lost weight. Fantastic, that's great. I see that, you know, this person has less, bloat has less, you know, inflammation, less everything, and that's fantastic.

We have to cheer each other on, we need to cheer ourselves on the people pleasing that starts with boundaries. That sets with that starts with loving yourself more setting those boundaries so that you can see that. It's that you and your priorities come first. So whether your priority is to get healthy and get hair and you have to run some errands for yourself, then get that done before you can go to lunch with some friends or happy hour or whatever it is that's on the table for people pleasing and sometimes saying no is necessary.

Reading yourself at the excuses of the doubts is necessary to not limit yourself, to not hold yourself back, to not keep yourself in a comfort zone because nothing grows in comfort. Number five and six was the judgment of others and the negative thinking, the negative thinking needs to stop the judgment of others.

We shouldn't judge others because really what we're doing, we're projecting what we think we lack or what's wrong with us with others. So if you say, if you say something negative about somebody else, potentially, that's just projecting what you think about yourself, right? And it's a little bit of psychology, but it tends to actually be spot on when I hear about. People nitpicking about other people it's normally because in a weird way, they're also nitpicking about themselves and about that trait about themselves. So start to notice these things with others, maybe, friends, family, coworkers, et cetera, but the judgment of others, we should stop because everyone is on their own path and sometimes they need a little extra help or we're, we all learn at our own pace.

The negative thinking needs to stop, cuz that doesn't help anybody, that doesn't help you, that doesn't help your friends, your family, your loved ones that doesn't help anybody and that just spirals you down into this negative downward spiral of limiting beliefs, limiting possibilities, limiting opportunities, and keeps you stuck and keeps you in fear. And we should let go of the fear and move with courage towards health, towards hair growth, towards possibility, towards abundance, towards, all these things that are waiting for us. On the other side of fear on the other side of negativity is the positivity is the possibility of hair growth.

So number seven is the fear of failure. We need to put that aside and understand that there is no such thing as failure, and it's all about the lessons learned. Number Nine and Eight. Overthinking and overanalyzing, analysis paralysis. We need to let go of all this because the overthinking and the overanalyzing just keeps us waiting. Just keeps us from getting and accomplishing what we want.

I cannot stress how many people have been following me for 2, 3, 4 years. They finally do the program and in less than five weeks, they see the hair growth. So what happened? They could have seen hair growth 2, 3, 4 years ago. Think about that. They could have seen the hair growth 2, 3, 4 years ago, but no, they're seeing it now in 2022, 5 weeks into the program, six weeks into the program and they could have done it a long time ago.

So who was holding themselves back? They were holding themselves back and we need to stop doing that, because for example, I'll put it into this context. Had I known the requirement. The strategies, the techniques truly being healthy, potentially I wouldn't have had alopecia, potentially I would've had everything in check, potentially this wouldn't have happened to me, but on the flip side, this happened to me. I grew from it. I got my hair back. It was a long list of lessons learned. Guaranteed and I've gone on to help others. So to me, the satisfaction of having gone through the suffering has enabled me to help others. And that's a beautiful thing.

I've been able to give back. I've been able to help so many others in more than 60 countries to heal and reverse alopecia. And it's not just adults, but it's also children. And that's a beautiful thing, because if there's a better way, we need to put it out there. We need to show that there's a better way.

And so the overthinking of the overanalyzing just puts you, it just sets you back in a timeline where you can really achieve your goals, achieve your  hair goals in less time. So think about that when you are on the fence about investing in yourself, when you're on the fence about joining the hair and heal program, when you're on the fence about taking action, because the more action leads to more clarification of where you need to go, of your next step, of what's next it really does.

Number 10 last but not least 10 things to eliminate in this long list of 10 things. Number 10 is expecting life to be perfect. As you know, it's not perfect. There's ups and downs. There's life lessons that we need to learn about alopecia.

I truly, truly believe a hundred percent that it's a life lesson. It was a life lesson for me. It's a life lesson for those around me. It's a life lesson for my clients. It's a life lesson for those who choose to heal, because again, healing is a choice you can choose to heal, or you can choose that, to let the situation propel itself into full hair loss, a little hair loss, a little hair growth here and there. Back to hair loss. You can let things go and let this run wild or you can take it by the reins and choose to heal and get your health back and your hair and your happiness back too. But life is not perfect. We're all going at our own pace. We're all doing the best we can, and we need to give ourselves more compassion and more grace about that.

We also need to understand that it's okay to go slower than others. It's okay to take these baby baby steps. It's okay to take those four years and just, be a bystander and take in the free content and just take in the podcast and just take in the PDFs and just take in the free trainings.

And then, when you're ready, you're ready. Cuz that's also a beautiful thing when you're ready, you're ready and you're a hundred percent committed and I prefer people who are committed to themselves, committed to the results, committed to their hair in order to see success. Because when you are committed to your health, when you are committed to your hair, when you are committed to yourself, that's where the magic happens.

That's where you are unstoppable. You are unstoppable and I don't think people realize that it's like you have to really be committed to yourself. You have to be committed to your health, to your hair, to the love that you have for yourself and a lot of times we're lacking the love for ourselves. We're lacking the feel, the feelings of being worthy. Are we worthy to heal? Are we worthy to overcome this? Are we worthy to get our hair back? And you are, you are, you are so worthy and so much more than that. You are worthy of all your heart's desire. You are worthy of hair growth of health, of optimal health, of thriving of happiness in really life is here for us to really designate.

What is it that we want and to go for it. So I encourage you to be results driven. I encourage you to take action. I encourage you to, to want to do and want to have the things that you, that you want, including the hair growth, cuz it's all possible. Your success is inevitable. It really is just like mine was. Just like my client says it's a hundred percent possible. It's a hundred percent there for you. You just need to take action and want it.

Thank you again. It's been 10 things to eliminate and I hope this has helped you. I look forward to talking to you and speaking to you in the next podcast. Take care.
