Awaken to hair growth. Awaken to hair growth because there is, possibility to get your hair back. Awaken to hair growth because we're not told that we're able to conquer and overcome alopecia. Awaken to hair growth because I want to be a positive light and beacon for you because I've healed my alopecia and now I help others do the same with different types of alopecia, men, women, children, of all ages of all races and ethnicities.

Hi everyone and welcome back to the alopecia angel podcast, awaken to hair growth. I'm your host, Johanna Dahlman and today we are talking about the misinformation of alopecia and like most of you, when I was first diagnosed, you probably went straight to google or the website or any website or just a search engine and started looking at why and what alopecia was. And this is kind of the start, right? for many of us, because alopecia has one of those words where maybe you didn't grow up with it unless you knew somebody with it.

And there's tons of misinformation from no cure to no options, to this, to that, to a lot of articles and personal stories from people who’ve done and tried tons of medications and who've seen the downside of it or to those people who've tried a lot of things and have spent so much money and time and resources to not see anything work. And this is a problem because there is a lot of marketing out there and there is a lot of misinformation and it's up to you, the consumer and the person going through alopecia to have to go and weed through all of this.

But I wanted to talk about today, not just the information, but I also wanted to bring light to myths in regards to alopecia and some of them have these myths that a lot of people tend to believe and they shouldn't be believing. One of the myths is that you can't heal alopecia and that there's no cure for it and they say there's no cure for it, but it's really because there's not a one size fits all approach. There's not the one pill, the one shampoo, the one cream, the one, anything that will work the same for everybody. So that's one of the myths and that's a big myth.

Another myth is that hair loss is because of your age and I find that that myth is also wrong on so many levels because, you know, I got alopecia in my thirties, I healed. I'm now in my forties and I still have tons of hair. So it's not about your age, it's about how you support your body and how your health blooms, the more our health blooms, the more, and the better our health and hair will be.

And another myth is that hair loss is because you've colored it too much, or because there's too much toxins in the color dyes, too many treatments, whether that's the keratin or any of these other types of hair treatments and I will say that there are certain treatments that aren't as healthy as others and I've always colored my hair. I've always known for my highlights. I've been doing highlights since I was 13. Could you not? and even during an alopecia, even during hair loss, the only thing that actually, like kept my sanity was to continue to do my highlights.

So I continued even with hair loss to do my highlights. That helped me to feel more composed and more like me during that time. So, no, you're not experiencing hair loss because of the coloring. Now, will I say that some dyes and some things are healthier than others? Yes, but that could be part of the puzzle, but not the full gamut. That's not the one root cause that's not it.

Now I will say that there's another myth that you have no control over your hair loss and that’s a hundred percent false cause you do, you have so much more control, then you have so much more control over your hair loss, over how fast the hair loss sheds and comes to how fast you heal and I say this because in my program, the hair and heal program, I have clients that in two to four weeks, the hair loss stops like the hair shedding stops completely two to four weeks.

That's not a long time and we can make this happen and for those of you who are listening to this, who are experiencing the hair shed, well, it doesn't have to go on for months or years. This can stop immediately. Once you put in all the steps and all the ingredients into this recipe. The other side to this is that you do have so much more control over your hair loss, even if you're bald.

So even if you're at alopecia universalis, and you want to have hair growth, you still have control over your hair loss and over your hair growth because if you're at, let's say alopecia universalis, all you have is to move up. You can't get any worse, so to speak, right? Because you've already lost it all, but you can improve and you can continue to improve.

And I've seen children that I worked with go from alopecia universalis to full heads of hair in 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 months. It just all depends, for each one it's different. They've started at alopecia universalis and they've seen hair growth and once that starts coming, it's like open the flood gates, boom, and they see the hair growth, but that's all about taking those steps, taking the action, and then also being able to be consistent because consistency is key with anything, right. We can't just go to the gym one day and think we're done. We need to do this on a continuous basis.

Another myth is that diet and lifestyle have nothing to do with hair loss and it has everything to do with hair loss because before, the hair loss, the precursor to all that is a hair growth and that's very important because you need the health for the hair. So this is why this is the hair and heal program because you want to heal the hair growth with optimal health, and this is what I help you do.

And another hair myth is that you can heal alopecia with topicals alone. There's not one topical on the market that will heal alopecia a hundred percent completely for everybody around the world. If that was the case, there would be a cure for everybody and there's no such thing. So for any of you looking and using topicals like this is it, this is going to help, save your money, it's not going to the topical solutions are not the end all game. The topical solutions will not move the needle. Alopecia is a bigger animal than just topical solutions. This is why all of you have tried it and it hasn't worked.

Another myth that I wanted to talk about is that many people think that you can't heal hair loss after 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 years when you can, and this is important to know because many people think, oh, I've had alopecia for 40 years. Oh, I've had alopecia for, you know, 30, 20, 15 years, 10 years.

Can I still be healed? Yes. If you are breathing and if you have the desire and the will for improvement, you can heal.

Another myth that I wanted to talk about is that, oh, this method or your method is only for certain people. I say this because I've had clients from every race and nationality around the world. People from the UK and South Africa, Nigeria people from South Africa, Australia, Latin America, Spain, the Netherlands, Denmark, China, HongKong, Malaysia. Oman, Jordan, Dubai, US, Canada, Mexico, you name it. I've had clients from all over the world and guess what? It helps them all the same because the body, the body, and the hair is hair, regardless of the texture, regardless of the type of hair, regardless of the color of hair.

It works all the same and this is the beautiful part, because even though we're all very individualized, the program is personalized to you, but at the same time, hair is hair and the body and the biology is set up in a way where if you follow it and support it and you understand it and you follow the steps, you will see results.

And so this is very, very important. There's a lot of misinformation out there and again, you have much more control than what you think and the wigs, the laser caps, the German rollers, the PRP is not necessary for alopecia. It just isn't and it's not necessary to heal alopecia either. All you need is the willingness and the desire to heal and also to take action.

That's what it is, it's desire plus action equals results. Now, mindset is also a nice added bonus, but if you've been following me, you can tell I'm very positive. I'm very optimistic and I inject this into you within my program, but then also within our coaching, because it's important to have hope, it's important to feel and, and get that optimism because it's necessary.

You can't live, you know, in a doom and gloom environment, nothing grows in the darkness. You know, everything grows in the sunlight. So you have to pour some sunshine into this. I've been there, I've done that and I'm telling you there's tons of misinformation. So even if it comes from a doctor, even if it comes from a dermatologist, even if it comes from anyone else on the road or on the street or in your life know that potentially it could be misinformation.

Potentially, it's not the full picture, potentially it's not a hundred percent accurate or it's not a hundred percent and this is very important. It was a hard lesson for me to learn. I grew up in a culture, I mean, my family thinking that doctors knew it, all that doctors were the end, all be all and whatever they said goes, and I grew up in this, like, not technically, but almost like, yes ma'am, no ma'am, yes sir, no sir type of environment where any adult that I saw had the last word.

As me as a child or as a teenager, as a young adult, they had the last word and so then when it comes to doctors, many times, we feel like they're the ones who hold all the answers. They're the ones who hold the cards. And I will say many times they do, you know, for different treatments or for different prognosis or diagnosis, they hold the cards and they can give you options.

Now, this is where I would say get a second, third, fourth, fifth, 10th opinion, get as many opinions as you can and the other thing I would say to you is look outside the box, look at alternatives, look at people who've been there, done that. And I'm very proud to say that I've healed, not just myself, but many others, hundreds of others, children and adults of all ages.

And that's key because there are many practitioners out there, alternative practitioners who maybe, they say they can help you with alopecia, but this is where we need to dive deeper. Like, what are those success stories? Who have they helped? Have they gone through alopecia? Do they understand me? Do they understand you?

And like where you're coming from, what is the success rate? What is their approach? Because when I went to all the gazillion doctors that I've seen, all different types of doctors, whether it was a natural path or other or regular conventional doctor, et cetera, it was very limited. It was the creams, the topicals, the potions, it was recommendations for injections, steroids and again, not one of them spoke to me about the risks or the side effects. Not one of them told me that the efficacy rate or that the success rate was extremely low to nothing. And I just wasted my time and I wasted my money.

That's what I did and I'm happy that I cut this short. I'm happy that I listened to my intuition and I took on my own route, the holistic approach is definitely required, but also listening to yourself because at the end of the day, you have more control than you give yourself credit for and we also have the power within ourselves. We just need to unlearn what we think is healthy and how to support our bodies to relearn how to truly do it in the best way to get the quickest results for our hair growth..

And I think this is very, very empowering and it's just so amazing because I can't tell you how many clients I've had, who tell me, I don't even know my diagnosis, or let's say they've seen five doctors and each doctor has given them a different diagnosis of the type of hair loss. They come to me thinking that they have a certain type of hair loss or they've self-diagnosed themselves by the research that they've done online.

They come to me, they're like, I don't think my hair is going to grow. Dah, dah, dah. They do the program low and behold. They may see hair growth and it continues. So the thing is it's like, even if online says there's no hope there's no cure, you have this type of alopecia and there's nothing you can do about it.

I would still bet on my body. I would still bet on my health. I would still do everything in my power to be the healthiest self, so that that hair comes through. And again, it's a mind, body spirit situation and so you need all components to really be your best self. And I will say that even those who were skeptical, even those who thought that they couldn't see hair growth have seen it. Believing is part of that, taking action as the other step, look twice, and think twice about the information that you do receive about alopecia.

Think about potentially what's the hidden agenda and also analyze, you know, is this healing approach worth it? Is it beneficial? Are there risks? Are there no risks? Are there side effects? Are there no side effects? This is all very important to take into consideration, as a mother now I want everything holistic and natural as much as possible. I want to keep my baby as healthy as possible in the most natural way, supporting the body and having gone through alopecia myself and healing myself, I'm actually better prepared now so much more now to protect him from any and all things as much as possible.

So it's really a crash course into unlearning to relearn what true health looks like and being your best self. So don't give in to the misinformation. There is fake news in this industry, and a lot of times we hold much more power than we're allowed to believe. So believe in yourself, believe that your body can heal and take action from there. I'll see you next time on the alopecia angel podcast. Take care.
