Awaken to hair growth. Awaken to hair growth because there is, possibility to get your hair back. Awaken to hair growth because we're not told that we're able to conquer and overcome alopecia. Awaken to hair growth because I want to be a positive light and beacon for you because I've healed my alopecia and now I help others do the same with different types of alopecia, men, women, children, of all ages of all races and ethnicities.

Hi everybody and welcome back to this week's episode. Today we are talking about an interview with a post participant from the hair and heal program that I had over a year ago and over a year ago, she's still seeing hair growth and she's still incredibly happy and the healthiest she's ever been.

So stay tuned for that interview but before we start, I wanted to go ahead and remind everybody that I have a raffle going on. This raffle will end the first week of March and it's for a free entry, a free program entry into the hair and heal program, which is a huge value and cost savings to anyone who wins. All you have to do is go to my podcast, alopecia angel podcast. Rate and review it and send us a screenshot. You could DM the screenshot as I've already received, or you can email it @helloatalexangel.com and we'll enter you into the raffle. So good luck to everybody, and I look forward to announcing that winner for this next program that's coming up.

So without further ado, here's that interview with Dolores, enjoy.

Johanna: All right, so Dolores, thank you, thank you for joining me on the alopecia angel podcast. For those of you who are joining us for the first time, I am a little bit whispering, my baby’s  in the other room sleeping. So hopefully we can get through this quite quickly.

Dolores, welcome to the show, for those of you who don't know, Dolores is one of my past participants for the hair and heal program and I wanted to bring her on. She is a special client because she was very skeptical of the hair and heal program and she's all resolved and she's got lots to say.

So Dolores will come to the show. How are you doing today?

Dolores: Thank you so much, Johanna for having me. I'm doing very well actually. Um, yes, hair is growing so I’m doing fine.

Johanna: Fantastic! So tell me before coming onto the program, how long have you been dealing with our patient before you came across me?

Dolores: Um, I would say, um, maybe five years before, but it intensified, um, like two years before I actually came into the program where the crown of my head, basically it wasn't like bald, but there was no hair there and, um, and I realized that there was really an accelerated, um, hair loss going on. So I had to do something about it and that's how I found your program, yes.

Johanna: What made you take the decision to join the program?  You know, a couple of months ago versus a year ago or versus, um, you know, anytime before, since you've been dealing with it for so long.

Dolores: Maybe I waited all that time because I was actually trying other things, um, like, you know, putting on the band, just dealing, trying to deal with, um, putting things on the hair and then the scalp to see whether or not that would work. So, so that's why I really didn't get into actually the depth of the things that you do, because I was, I was trying other things, that , that I felt was easy for me to do and I, and I could handle as I go along.

Johanna: Right, that makes sense, we all do that. We all try a bunch of things and it doesn't work and then we're trying to look for someone who's been there, done that. So tell our viewers, what type of alopecia did you have?

Dolores: Um, uh, what's the word? Um, actually I went to a dermatologist. He gave me a word, it's like, uh, is it circumferential? I forget the word, but basically it's on the crown of the head where it forms a circle. So that's, that's um, what he told me and, um, that I had, receding hairline and so he felt that basically there was nothing that I could do except use some topical stuff on it.

Johanna: That was it, that was the only solution. Was that the only doctor you saw or did you see other doctor?

Dolores: That was the only dermatologist that I saw. Yes. And I, I, he a, I mean, he said I could try the shots, so I, I got the shots.

Johanna: Did you see any results there?

Dolores: There were no results from the shots at all. Yeah.

Johanna: Okay. So then months later, years later, you found me and how would it go for you? because I recall having our, our phonecalls and, um, you know, there is always skepticism, especially from the alopecia community and I understand this, you know, you have to look at things with a double-edged sword and you know, is this going to be another gimmick and my wasting my money and my wasting my time. Like, I totally get this and I know you and everyone else probably thought the same thing. So tell our viewers.

Dolores: Right. I've spent more money on my hair than anything else,

Johanna: We all have for sure

Dolores: I've spent more money on hair than on clothes. So that's, that's how it is and, um, after all of that, I'm like, okay, Um, what do I have to lose? I've spent more money on my hair. So if, if this doesn't work for my hair and all this plan that seems to take care of the entire body, if it doesn't work for my hair, hopefully it will do something else. Um, I've always considered myself a healthy eater. Um, but there were just things that I was doing that, that was wrong and, and I'm like, if, if this doesn't work, um, for the hair, at least they give something else like have another try. I mean, I really don't have anything to lose, so I might as well trade.

But, um, but in terms of the hair growth, I was like, okay, um, I will have to see, because I mean, if, if these results are, are going to come and I think I was more skeptical because I have to acknowledge, um, to your listeners that, that I'm, I'm black and, um, you're obviously not black. So I'm like, will, will your program work for somebody who's black? You know what I mean? Um, maybe this, this, this is what other ethnicities then, and not black people like myself, yeah so,

Johanna: I get that, you know but,

Dolores: That, that is one of the skepticism still.

Johanna: And regardless of the type of hair, whether it's curly, kinky or, or anything else in between or outside of that, uh, hair is hair and it's a biological performance, it's a biological occurrence and so this is where, regardless of the race or ethnicity, um, hair is his hair and it will grow once the health is there. Um, so tell us about your results. Tell us about how you felt, tell us about how the program was for you.

Dolores: Actually, um, I was excited, I must say to start. So even before the official start of the program based on our interview. I started diet, changing of the diet and eating differently. Cause some things I just thought I could not do without. I'm, I'm a corn person. I love corn, everything in Karnes. So everything corn, I had it and, and, um, to get off corn, it was just something else, but I'm like, I'm doing this and we'll see and that, um, I had to, it was not as difficult as I thought at all.

So that helps significantly. And, um, in terms of the other changes, as it relates to lifestyle, so real game changers in, um, in the process, um, and they really helped because no, as it relates to, uh, the, my schedule of eating the times that I eat. I, I now ensure that I don't, um, eat late at night. I mean, I'm not somebody with weight.

I've always been, um, for lack of a better word, skinny. So I just thought I could eat any time and it would not affect me. Um, but that's, that's really not the case. I usually be, eating late at night and just go to bed and, um, and I realized that was affecting me, my health and possibly my hair too. Well, my hair is part of my health, you see? So, so all of, all of that has changed as it relates to, um, the schedule of the times that I eat and, um, and what I eat and they have been very helpful in, uh, in helping with the hair growth and, and what has happened transpired since then.

Johanna: I've seen hair growth. Um, do you recall how soon you saw hair growth to come out? How soon in the program and within the two months,

Dolores: You know, something I would have to say within the, uh, within the two months, if not, um, within the two months of the AIP,  I saw hair growth. Um, It could be as, as early, as, as like six weeks, they were about, um, that it, that it was really obvious. Uh, there was an, well, I had a huge amount of hair shedding.

So when that stop, the, the, hair shedding, um, that's when I really started to see the, the hair growth. So, that was good. Um, the, the recommendations for the, uh, Um, for the hair, um, for the mask, the recommendations you give for the hair mask have been good. I find myself doing overnight mask and I'm like, okay, what is this that Dolores is doing?

But, um, I mean overnight, I do it and I get up and I shampoo in the morning and my hair is like, well, heavenly it's like loving me for doing that. You know? So, so it's been, um, it's been very good in that regard. Yeah.

Johanna: Beautiful. Outside of hair growth, what other, um, what other things have you noticed in your body or, you know just all over?

Dolores: Oh yes, there have been quite a few because, um, the two years before that I spoke about that, um, that I saw the accelerated, um, hair loss. There was something else that I realized that I've never had an issue with that and it may seem, well out of place, but, but I realized I was having body odor and I've never been somebody that struggled with body odor. And after being on the program that went like completely, the two summers before I came on the program, I struggled during the summer because no amount of deodorant could help me.

I mean, as soon as I got out of there, I started sweating. I was like, no, I got to get home. That was it. It was, it was very uncomfortable and no, I'm quite fine. That has disappeared completely. And I was also having joint pains, even though I'm somebody that is slim, has a small body. I was starting to have joint pains in my knees.

I work upstairs. I just have two flights of steps to go and I realized I started to feel pain in my knees going up those stairs and you know I'm getting older. I'm in my late forties so I was like, maybe this is it. Maybe this is the sign of aging.

Johanna: No, no, no, no. That's the thing a lot of people like to say that, hair loss or doctors like to say, I've heard too many people, many of my clients they'll say, oh, you know, hair loss because you're aging.

You're in your late forties. I'm in my forties and no, it's not a part of aging. You can definitely have your hair, you can definitely have your health and it's just about learning to support it, which unfortunately, doctors don't give us any tips on that either. So it's um, yeah, they like to say age, but it's not.

Dolores: Yeah. Yes. That's, that's so true because, um, no, the joint pain is gone and this is, this is no exaggerating or anything. I don't feel any pain at all in my job.

Johanna: That's amazing.

Dolores: It's really amazing and I'm like, no, I, there just somethings I will have to keep off if I need to maintain this and maintain my health overall and my hair health. So I mean, whatever it takes, um, it's not too much discomfort. Yes, there are things that I would like to eat that I no longer get to eat, but that's fine. It's, it's for my health and longevity, which is more important than eating something that's um, that will not benefit me long term though so that's, that's been good.

Johanna: I agree to that. I agree. So how would you rate this program? How much of a transformation have you seen in yourself and what would you say to someone who's on the fence about joining the program?

Dolores: You know, something I, without hesitation, I would really have to give the program and a, and if it's Sodo scores, it's, it's a 10 out of 10 because I mean, I was hesitant at first as to what is this, you know? Um, will this really heal. But I, I tried and sometimes, uh, you won't know until you try something and your results may be different from mine, um, in terms of the time it takes, but there are definitely positive results to be gained from the program for your hair and for your overall health.

So, so if you're actually on the fence about joining, I would say, go ahead and just dive in. I'm sure you've made other decisions that you were not a hundred percent sure what the outcome would be. This may just be one of them so go right ahead and do it

Johanna:I appreciate it

Dolores: Your, your body will love you for it and your hair will love you even more.

Johanna: That’s so true. So since joining the program, have you seen continuous hair growth? Have you,is this hard to maintain this new diet and lifestyle, this new way of living for you?

Dolores: It's, it's not hard to maintain and I must acknowledge that after two years, um, I cheated once with gluten just recently during the holidays and, um, yeah. And, and I mean, that's because I wanted IDD. I made the choice, the decision. If I, if I had to choose not to eat it, I would have not eaten it. So, so it's not like hard to maintain.

That group in the Caribbean and, and natural foods is something that we had, but, you know, after the transition you just eat, I mean, the, the coming to the US you just eat, um, what's readily available. Um, and, and yes, for convenience and the lifestyle where you've just gotta get up and go and get things done. Yes.

Johanna:  Very true.

Dolores: So you followed a place with that, but it's not at all difficult to maintain. Um, you prepare your meals. I prepare my meals because I worked, so I prep my meals on the weekend, so I have what I need to eat and, um, I'm not an eat out person, but when I do eat out, I watch what I eat and, and, um, and, and it can be done.

It's doable and it can be done, yes.

Johanna: Thank you so much. I believe it can be done, not just for you, but for everybody as well. This is why I do what I do. Do you have any last words, comments, or thoughts that you'd like to share with the viewers or the audience or the listeners? I should say.

Dolores: Well, first thank you so much, Joanna, for, um, for what you do, you know, and helping others. Um, not just women, but I'm sure there are many in the, um, in the program, men who have benefited, um, yes, but we, women, we love our hair, our hair is our crown. So, so, um,

Johanna: That's true.

Dolores: It works for us. So thank you so much for what you do for putting in your time and effort in educating and, and helping us. And, and if there's anybody else there that, you know, would like to give this program a try, go ahead and do it, um, because there's nothing to lose and you will certainly benefit from the time that you put into it.

Johanna: Thank you so much. Dolores, you've been a shining light and an example for others. Um, not just for, um, you know, women, but also women from the Caribbean. Also women who have come to the US and you know, fallen trap to the convenience food and any Western society that that's kind of like how it is. And, and also, um, to show that others can do it too, and it's not hard and it's not, um, you know, it's not like a lifelong sentence.

It's just the opposite. It's an investment in your health and your longevity in everything else that we're going to be coming up against. Um, I find not just you know how alopecia has helped me with my own fertility, but also how it gets me thinking about brain health, how it gets me thinking about anti-aging and how it gets me thinking about how to avoid Alzheimer's and dementia and everything else because you know, if you're not focused on your health today, then later on, it'll catch up to you one way or another and I think alopecia is just one of those sounding alarms to what could possibly happen in the future.

Dolores: Yes for sure. Absolutely. Yes. Thank you.

Johanna: Thank you Dolores for your time. Thank you for your good positive energy and, um, again, I thank you for your time and I look forward to staying in contact with you and to hearing more of your success and your progress in the future.

Dolores: You're welcome. Thank you too, Johanna.
