Live Your Best Life: Before, During + After AlopeciaJan 02, 2020
Happy New Year! Across the street from my house, I already see people on the treadmill and actively working out in the gym. I have never seen so many people in it at one time. With hopes for better health, we also need action.
In having alopecia, before, during and after - we need to make the best of each day, know that we are doing our best, and also proactively taking steps to make tomorrow better and at the least, knowingly understand where we can do better- and then take more action!
Living your best life is available to you now. Right now. Yes! right now. It's living in the present. Being aware, that yes - maybe your hair is falling out or you are already bald, but that there is a solution to every problem except death as my grandma likes to say. We can solve our problem in a variety of ways. Taking the correct steps ensures success.
I know people who had AU- alopecia universalis, and totalis and have recovered their hair in full. Why not you? I have clients who have done the same. Why not you?
I know people who have reversed their Hashimotos, diabetes and Multiple sclerosis - why not you or anyone else you know who has this?
The problem is when we think it's not possible for us, so we just give up. The problem also lies where we think we have tried "everything" and still don't have results. If you don't have results, its because you have NOT tried everything- or perhaps at least committed to it for a while.
Do you know that people spend over $500 on skincare per year? The data has been calculated by Statista based on the U.S. Census data and Simmons National Consumer Survey (NHCS). According to this statistic, 1.66 million Americans spent $500 or more on skin care products.
Do you also know it takes 3 months to see results on skin care products? Many times people stop using it in a month because of lack of results... if they only knew, many products are not instant. It takes time.
I had a client say to me she thought my program didn't suit her because she has dietary restrictions- just the opposite. My program can be tailored to any diet and though I promote many changes- this can all be done according to your diet. Supplementation is necessary, taking action is necessary and making the changes allows living your best life.
I know someone who complains about daily ailments, pains, her arthritis and backaches. She creates band aids with taking Advil or pain medicine. However, the culprit here isn't the pain - that is actually the sounding alarm that her body is telling her; rather its her diet and lifestyle that is creating inflammation, creating the pain and should she choose better, by doing better, that pain would go away, diminish greatly and that arthritis can alleviate, go away and subside.
Believe in the power of your body and its natural ability to heal.
Do you have a bucket list? Or dreams of doing things like traveling around the world or starting your own business? What about living abroad, or going back to school to get a degree? Perhaps even starting your own charity or working for a cause that you are fond of? Maybe even learning something new like the piano or how to paint or cook!
We all have dreams and goals. Health and time are limited resources. We can never get time back.
Health is finite as well.
Start living your best life now. Don't wait till a certain day, year or month. If you want to do something- GO DO IT!
If you want to get healthy, achieve hair growth - then go for it with 100% of your effort.
It might take a few months or longer but it will be worth it.
My university degrees took 4 years plus 2 more for a masters, and not to mention 4 years of highschool and another 9 -10 for elementary school and yet, its all worth it. Greatness takes time. Education is life long!
Results take time and effort. You can do this. You can heal, you can live your best life now by taking action- taking steps towards a healthier lifestyle and diet. Just like training for a marathon, it's day by day over a period of time, not over night.
I just finished reviewing an article and interview I had done a few weeks ago. I talk about how many things are not taught to us in schools as children. Nutrition, diet, lifestyles, stress management and so much more are not taught and yet they are life skills we need. As adults we are not taught this either. We are left to fend for ourselves to learn hopefully, through a book, or mentor, if not, we will succumb to many ailments and health concerns- as they are signs that our diet and lifestyle is hurting us. My case and yours, fits this scenario. This is why I encourage you to take action, even baby steps if needed to move forward, get better and get healthy. Don't wait for alopecia to worsen, don't wait for another autoimmune disease to piggy back onto your alopecia, as 25% of those with alopecia will acquire 2-3 more autoimmune diseases.(yikes!) Get the help and healing you need. Know that medicine can only do so much if you are not supporting your body the right way.
Don't use excuses as this will keep you from your ultimate dream life. Know that genetics are a small percentage compared to diet and lifestyle that equate to around 80% of your health factors. We can change the script- you don't have to be like your parents, uncles or siblings. You can be healthy, if you decide to be! Now. Today!
It's my ultimate wish that 2020 awakens that inner calling in you to take action, and get healthy.
